The OECD has completed its competition policy review of Bulgaria as part of the country’s accession process, the Commission on Protection of Competition (CPC) announced Monday. The assessment was finalized during the OECD Competition Committee’s meeting in Paris on December 4, 2025.

Bulgaria was represented at the meeting by CPC Deputy Chair Radomir Cholakov.

Cholakov presented Bulgaria’s recent progress, including amendments to the Competition Protection Act adopted by Parliament in October, which implement all OECD recommendations requiring legislative changes. The OECD Committee’s chair, Benoit Coeure, praised Bulgaria’s efforts to strengthen the CPC’s capacity and congratulated the country on its advancement toward OECD membership.
