The producer price index in agriculture increased by 6.3% in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the same period of 2024. This increase was driven by a 6.3% increase in both the crop output price index and the livestock production price index, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Monday. On an annual basis, agricultural output prices rose by 4.2%, with crop production prices up by 4.6% and livestock production prices up by 2.9%.
In the second quarter of 2025, the producer price index increased by 15.6% compared to the same quarter of 2024 due to a 26.7% rise in crop production prices and a 5.8% increase in livestock production prices. On an annual basis, agricultural output prices grew by 13.5%, with crop prices increasing by 25.5% and livestock prices rising by 2.9%.
In the first quarter of 2025, the producer price index in agriculture rose by 7.7% compared to the same quarter of 2024, while annual agricultural output prices increased by 8.1%, according to NSI data.
