Lukoil Bulgaria’s retail network is operating and will continue to operate as normal, the company said in a statement on Wednesday in response to media reports suggesting an imminent suspension of its operations in Bulgaria.
“There are no grounds for ceasing the activities of any of our retail sites. All filling stations are fully supplied with fuel. Claims that operations are being halted are false, speculative and misleading,” the company said.
Earlier on Wednesday, President Rumen Radev vetoed and returned to the National Assembly for further debate the bill amending the Act on Administrative Regulation of Economic Activities Associated with Oil and Petroleum Products, introducing provisions concerning the role of a special commercial administrator in Lukoil Bulgaria. Later the same day, the National Assembly’s Committee on Energy re-adopted the bill, approved by Parliament on November 7.
