site.btaSurgeon Nikolay Boltadzhiev Opens First Art Exhibition “Diagnosis: Art”

Renowned surgeon Dr. Nikolay Boltadzhiev is presenting his debut art exhibition, titled Diagnosis: Art, at Rivoli Gallery in Sofia. The exhibition opens on September 24 and will run until November, the organizers announced.

The show features works painted over 20 years ago, including pieces from the artist’s childhood, reflecting his lifelong connection to visual art. The exhibition is curated by Bisera Yosifova, former director of the National Art Gallery and current executive director of the 13 Centuries Bulgaria National Endowment Fund.

Dr. Boltadzhiev was born in 1955 in Sofia. He studied drawing from a young age and later graduated from the Medical Academy in Sofia in 1981, specializing in general surgery. He trained in France and Switzerland and has worked in various military and civilian hospitals. In 1997, he founded and managed a general hospital until mid-2019. He has served in several academic and administrative healthcare roles, including Chair of the National Association of Private Hospitals and member of the Supervisory Board of the National Health Insurance Fund. Since 2024, he has also been the founder and owner of Rivoli Gallery.
