The 3rd Buna Contemporary Visual Art Forum will take place from September 3 to 8 in Varna, the Buna Foundation said on Friday.
The event is entitled Discovery and Otherness in the Era 5.0, with the topics to be related to identity, humans and their relationships through the prism of emerging new technologies, AI and transhumanism, the organizers emphasized.
The forum will include over 170 participants from 30 countries. The programme will include exhibitions, urban interventions, performances, interactive and digital installations, lectures, discussions and music. New media will be strongly present at the festival with video, augmented reality, holograms, artificial intelligence, interactive and streaming projects.
The edition will also have a significant segment with Balkan artists on the occasion of the newly established Balkan Prize for Contemporary Art of the Singer-Zahariev Foundation, which aims to unite the local contemporary scene and increase the visibility of artists from the region.
The 3rd Buna Contemporary Visual Art Forum was developed in cooperation with the French Institute in Sofia and the France Embassy in Bulgaria. The forum is realized with the support of the Culture Ministry, the Culture Fund of Varna Municipality, the Singer-Zahariev Foundation, the Slovenian Embassy and the Embassy of Kosovo.
