site.btaSinger Philip Donkov Wins Audience Award at National Song Contest in Burgas


The song Spomen ot Predi, with lyrics by Ruzha Mateeva, music and arrangement by George Miltiyadoff, and performed by debutant Philip Donkov, won the audience award at the 42nd Burgas i Moreto [Burgas and the Sea] National Song Contest on Saturday. It was selected in the final at the Summer Theater in the seaside town by the audience, who voted on site via the competition website using an individual code.
Posokata Kam Men, performed by Boyana Karpatova, with lyrics by Yavor Kirin and music and arrangement by Svetoslav Loboshki, received the online listeners' award, which is awarded through preliminary online voting on the competition website. The award was presented by Kiril Valchev, Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency, who was among the members of the jury.
The jury also included singer Nelly Rangelova, poet and musician Loris Manuelian, Prof. Adrian Georgiev from Sofia University, and composer Petar Aleksiev.
In addition to a cash prize of BGN 1,000, the song's team received from Valchev and the issue of LIK magazine dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the competition in 2022.
The jury gave the highest rating to the song Sled Lyubovta, performed by the author and composer Georgi Dyulgerov, arranged by Krasimir Gyulmezov and with lyrics by Kostadin Filipov. It was awarded a statuette, presented by Nelly Rangelova, as well as a cash prize of BGN 4,500.
The producer's award, which Prof. Georgiev has been awarding for the second year in a row and which gives performers the opportunity to make a professional recording in the new multimedia training center of the university's branch in the city, was shared between the group A Cloud Embraced and the performer Victoria Kamencheva.
For the fifth consecutive year, an award for a young performer named after Plamen Stavrev was presented in the form of a statuette, an honorary diploma, and a cash prize of BGN 1,500.
The regional newspaper Chernomorski Far also gave its award for song lyrics. The award was announced by editor-in-chief Silvia Shatrova, and this year the publication chose to honor Vicky Ruseva, who performed the song Avgust, with lyrics by herself, music by Ivan Krastev, and arrangement by Georgi Tsvetkov.
