site.btaSixteen Bulgarians to Compete at Balkan Athletics Cross-Country Championships in Romania
Bulgaria will be represented by sixteen athletes across various age categories at the Balkan Athletics Cross-Country Championships, which will take place in Romania on November 8, the Bulgarian Athletics Federation said Monday after approving the members of the national team earlier in the day.
The line-up includes newly crowned national champions Ivo Balabanov in the men’s category and Devora Avramova among the women, who won their titles over the weekend at the National Championships in Pirdop. The team also features winners from the other age divisions.
Team Bulgaria for the Balkan Cross-Country Championships:
U-20 boys: Pavel Zdravkov, Angel Darandashev, and Pancho Panchev, coached by Atanas Ivanov
U-20 girls: Pamela Eni, Anika Atanasova, and Stefaniya Lyubenova, coached by Ivan Mihaylov and Krum Krumov (self-funded)
U-23 men: Stanislav Rashkov, coached by Stoyan Vladkov
U-23 women: Svetlozara Grozdanova, coached by Stoyan Vladkov
Men: Ivo Balabanov, Ivan Andreev, Atanas Kutsarov, and Stoyan Vladkov, coached by Zhelyazko Zhelev
Women: Devora Avramova, Silvia Georgieva, Bilserin Syuleyman, and Marinela Tsekova (self-funded), coached by Ivan Popov
