The premiere of the Canadian film Agatha's Almanac will open the 5th Rhodope International Documentary Film Fest, which will be held in Smolyan from July 10 to 13.
This year's edition is dedicated to the theme of food, with the festival programme tracing the path of food, beginning from the soil through to the plate on the dinner table, PR expert Mihaela Lyutskanova said. The special selection dedicated to food will screen 12 titles, including the Georgian film Blueberry Dreams by Elene Mikaberidze. Some of the films will be available online through the Neterra.TV+ platform, in order to reach an audience throughout Bulgaria.
The programme will also include competitive films from all over the world, with an emphasis on productions from Germany and Poland. At the end of the festival, an international jury will give out awards in the categories for short, medium-length and full-length documentaries.
