The June issue of BTA's LIK magazine is having a launch event Wednesday evening at the Christo and Jeanne-Claude Centre in Gabrovo (North Central Bulgaria).
The issue is dedicated to the two artists, whose births this year mark 90 years. The event will be opened by BTA Director General Kiril Valchev, while the presentation of the publication will be attended by Gabrovo Mayor Tanya Hristova and curator Margarita Dorovska, who is the former director of the Gabrovo Museum of Humor and Satire. She left the position in 2023 to focus entirely on the project to establish the Christo and Jeanne-Claude Centre.
Guests of the event are students from the Gabrovo National Aprilovska High School, representatives of regional media and local cultural institutions. The event is being held simultaneously in the Maxim Hall of BTA in Sofia. The agency's national press clubs in the country and abroad will also be participating via video link.
This year also marks three major anniversaries related to their work - 40 years since The Pont Neuf Wrapped in Paris, 30 years since Wrapped Reichstag in Berlin, and 20 years since The Gates installation in New York’s Central Park.
BTA's LIK magazine has been free to access since January 2024. All issues from 2022 to present day are available in electronic format at the BTA website.
