A postage stamp with renowned Bulgarian actor Georgi Partsalev featured on it was validated at a ceremony in the actor’s home town of Levski, Northcentral Bulgaria, on Monday. The collectable special edition stamp is dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of the actor. The ceremony took place at the Ritual Hall of the Levski Municipality.

The mayor of the municipality, Lyubka Aleksandrova, the head of the Regional Unit “North Central Region” of Bulgarian Posts Plc, Pavlin Kavulski, and the author of the stamp, Todor Angeliev, validated the stamp. It has a face value of BGN 0.95, dimensions 45x25 mm and a circulation of 5,500 pieces. Bulgarian Posts announced that a special seal will be made available for use at the Levski Post Office for three working days from the date of validation.

Aleksandrova expressed the gratitude of the citizens of the town who love and remember Georgi Partsalev for the opportunity to own a piece of him, because for the citizens of Levski he is the most beloved “institution”. “He himself is an institution. He is amazing, great, a person who everyone born here, keeps in his heart. Partsalev will always inspire us with his artistic talent, with his big human heart and with the enormous mark that he left in the soul of Bulgarian people during his lifetime and after he died,” she added.

“Themes like cinema and theater have deep traditions in Bulgarian stamp issuing. Over time, numerous anniversaries of great artists have been commemorated through postage stamp art," Kavulski said.

The author, Todor Angeliev, said it was an honor and a great responsibility to work on creating this stamp. He added that Georgi Partsalev was his favorite actor since childhood and the stamp turned out well because he worked with love. He said that working on the project, starting with the idea to its final completion took him about a week.

The stamp is part of a series, there will be another stamp dedicated to another renowned Bulgarian actor, Georgi Kaloyanchev.

The event in the town of Levski is part of the Partsalev 2025 Arts Festival from June 13 to 17.
