site.btaExhibition Featuring Works from 26th Annual Review of Bulgarian Photography Opens in Plovdiv

An exhibition featuring selected authors and works from the 26th Annual Review of Bulgarian Photography, Photo Academica – 2025, opens on June 10 at the Kapana Gallery at the City Art gallery in Plovdiv.

The event also marks the official opening of the 16th edition of the European Month of Photography.

For the second consecutive year, the national competition focuses on photographic series. The exhibition is an initiative of the National Association Academy of Photography and will present a selection of 156 photographs by 15 Bulgarian authors.

During the opening ceremony, awards will be presented in several competition categories, and the winner of the 2025 honorary Academica statuette will be announced. The award is handed in recognition of outstanding contribution to the art of photography.

The jury is chaired by art photographer Yavor Popov, and also includes Nikolay V. Vassilev, Tihomir Penov, Sonya Stankova, Nadezhda Pavlova, Neli Gavrilova and Stefan Kamenov.

The exhibition will run until June 30.
