The Historical Museum in Svishtov presents the exhibition “Legio I Italica on the border of the Empire” in the Polish city of Poznan on May 9, Svishtov Municipality announced. The event is funded by the Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria, in partnership with the Historical Museum in Svishtov, the Archaeological Museum in Poznan, and the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Warsaw.
The exhibition is dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the beginning of archaeological research by the Bulgarian-Polish expedition of the Roman military camp, early Byzantine town and archaeological reserve of Nove near Svishtov.
The exhibition will display 11 exhibits from the collection of the Historical Museum - Svishtov, which are some of the most interesting archaeological finds discovered in the reserve and its surroundings. The exhibits can be visited until June 9, the municipal administration added.
This exhibition is not the first that the museum in Svishtov presents abroad. In March, Dr. Marin Marinov, archaeologist and curator at the History Museum in Svishtov, told BTA that the Svishtov Treasure has participated in international exhibitions in Austria and Norway.
