Another virtuoso trumpeter is joining the season of the Sofia Philharmonic. The Belgian virtuoso Jeroen Berwaerts - well-known both on the classical and jazz scene - will present on 16 May the extremely beautiful Trumpet Concerto by Herbert Willi. Spanish conductor José Luis Castillo will be adding Jan Sibelius' Symphony no. 2 to the programme. Having the richest repertoire of Sibelius's symphonies, it impresses with its versatility, sweeping drama and heroic drive combined with a subtle romantic sensibility.
