The eighth edition of the Day of Italian Design will be held in Sofia on March 14. It is an initiative of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, the Industrial Design Association, the Compasso d'Oro Foundation, the Italian Trade Agency office in Sofia, Salone de Mobile. Milano, Triennale Milano, the  Italian Federation of Woodworking, Cork, Furniture, Lighting and Furnishing Industries, the Altagamma Foundation and Confindustria, said the Italian Embassy in Sofia.

This year's theme puts the emphasis on the production process that leads to the creation of aesthetically pleasing objects of industrial design but also of high material value, as a result of the use of quality raw materials and production processes that combine tradition and craftsmanship with the most modern techniques, in terms of technology and environmental sustainability.

The Embassy of Italy in Sofia, Italian Trade Agency office in Sofia and the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC), together with Confindustria Bulgaria and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria, are co-organizing a series of events dedicated to the theme of Italian Design Day 2024.

On 12 March, the Italian Design Week will be officially launched in the Divanidea showroom. An address will be given by architect Raffaella Mangiarotti, Ambassador of the Italian Design Day 2024 in Bulgaria.

From March 13 to June 30, 2024, a photo exhibition titled "100 Vases of Italian Design. Creating Quality in Design - Inclusion, Innovation and Sustainability", will be arranged on the fence of the Italian Embassy of Italy.

Also on the programme is a conference where Raffaella Mangiarotti will give a speech.
