Turkish writers visited the Writers’ Union of Bulgaria (WUB), the organization said here on Sunday. Turkish delegation consisted of Ahmet Emin Atasoy (Bulgarian-Turkish poet), Bulent Elitok – a poet, screenwriter, playwright and owner of the SUUS Kitap publishing house), Fehmi Enginalp – an essayist, memoirist, literary critic and owner of the Alp Yayinlari publishing house, and Hilmi Hasal – a poet and publisher of the Eliz Edebiyat magazine. The three publishing houses work together to promote contemporary Turkish and European literature. Very often Bulgarian authors appear in their publications, as well, WUB said.

WUB Chairman Boyan Angelov and Bulent Elitok, who chairs the Turkish Writers’ Association in Bursa, signed a cooperation agreement, envisaging future mutual visits, joint book presentations, conferences and seminars, among others.

The Turkish writers thanked for the opportunity to present themselves in front of a Bulgarian audience. Bulgarian authors Atanas Kapralov, Angela Dimcheva, Maya Panayotova, Petar Andasarov, Stoyanka Boyanova, Minko Tanev, Georgi Atanasov, Venko Evtimov, Elisaveta Shapkareva, Khairi Hamdan, Atanas Zvedinov and Boyan Angelov gave their Turkish colleagues a poetic greeting.
