Sports Minister Vesela Lecheva sent Sunday congratulatory addresses to the rhythmic gymnastics ensemble and the leadership of the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation after the European title in the all-around and the first place in the team rankings.

Zhenina Trashlieva, Sofia Ivanova, Kamelia Petrova, Rachel Stoyanov and Radina Tomova brought Bulgaria’s first gold medal from the European Championships since 1990.

The Bulgarian gymnasts - Boryana Kaleyn, Stiliana Nikolova, Eva Brezalieva and the women's ensemble achieved another success by winning the team competition.

"I am proud of your success. After the world title you managed to add the long-awaited gold from the European Championships. You are confidently following in the footsteps of the Tokyo Olympic champions and I am convinced that you have every chance to repeat their success. Keep going confidently on your way. I wish you good health so you can fulfil your big goals. Pursue your dreams with the same tenacity and dedication and success will be yours," wrote Lecheva.

Vesela Lecheva also addressed the leadership of the Federation.

"Dear Mrs. Raeva, dear managers, coaches, specialists, your performance at the European Championships put Bulgaria on the deserved first place and proved that your tireless work is appreciated and gives results. Thank you for the good emotions, for the fact that your gymnasts glorify our country, that you create new generations of stars, that with their example you manage to attract thousands of Bulgarian children to sports," Lecheva wrote in the congratulatory address.
