Parliament Chair Nataliya Kiselova has convened an extraordinary sitting of the National Assembly on Tuesday, October 28, the Parliament’s press centre announced on Friday. The order is based on Article 78, paragraph 2 of the Constitution and Article 40, paragraphs 2 and 3 of the Rules of Organization and Procedure of the National Assembly.

The only item on the agenda is the second reading of the amendments to the Healthcare Establishments Act - a bill drafted by the Health Committee, based on the bills adopted at first reading on July 25, submitted by Vazrazhdane MP Tsontcho Ganev and a group of MPs (July 11), Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria MP Assen Vassilev and a group of MPs (July 11), GERB-UDF MP Kostadin Angelov, BSP-United Left MP Ivan Ibrishimov and There Is Such a People MP Andrey Tchorbanov (July 18), the statement said.

Earlier on Friday, at the initiative of Continue the Change (CC), all opposition parliamentary groups submitted the necessary signatures to convene an extraordinary sitting of the National Assembly on Tuesday to consider the bills on the salaries of doctors and nurses. In a statement, CC said that this week, the ruling coalition made another move to reject all bills on medical salaries at the Health Committee, including its own, promising that the necessary funds would be secured in the 2026 State Budget.
