site.btaHeavy Rainfall Expected in Ruse Region, Regional Administration Warns of Possible Flooding

Heavy rains are expected in Ruse Region until the end of the week, the Ruse Regional Administration said in a press release on Monday. Ruse Regional Governor Dragomir Draganov explained that the most intense rainfall is forecast for October 7 and 8, with the total amount of rainfall until October 9 expected to reach between 80 and 110 l/sq. m.
This could lead to local flooding, given that the soil is already saturated from previous rainfall. There is also a risk of landslides. Starting tomorrow, wind gusts will also intensify, sometimes exceeding 60 km/h.
The Ruse Regional Governor and his deputy Georgi Georgiev are in constant contact with all institutions involved in dealing with a possible crisis situation. Additional preventive measures may be introduced if necessary. In addition to ensuring people's safety, maintaining an uninterrupted power and water supply and communications is a top priority, Draganov underscored.
