Deputy Foreign Minister Nikolay Pavlov accepted copies of the letters of credence of Montenegro's newly appointed Ambassador to Bulgaria, Dorde Jankovic, the Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

The talks focused on the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries, characterized by frequent visits at high and highest level, shared values, and no outstanding issues. Appreciation was expressed for Bulgaria's continued support for Montenegro's Euro-Atlantic path. A number of topics on the bilateral agenda were also discussed, with an emphasis on successful partnership in the fields of economy and business, tourism, and cultural exchange, among others.

The opening of a direct flight between Sofia and Podgorica was highlighted as a priority, as a key condition for expanding trade and economic cooperation and cultural and tourist exchange.

The possibilities for resuming the activities of the Joint Bulgarian-Montenegrin Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation were also discussed.
