Resorts in Bulgaria should be attractive to citizens all year round, National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova said on Wednesday at the Borovets resort complex, where she visited the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord. She noted that, like any religious holiday, the Transfiguration of the Lord is an occasion to turn to faith and pay attention to the small things.
She pointed out that Bulgaria has natural resources and the idea of developing winter resorts in the summer, both Borovets and other resorts, shows very serious efforts in this direction. There is snow for three months a year, and resorts should be attractive to residents not only during these months, Kiselova stressed.
When asked if there are any legislative initiatives aimed at the development of mountain municipalities, she replied that several working groups have been created at the ministries in connection with the development of Vitosha. "I assume that now there will be measures in connection with afforestation due to the fires, since very serious areas are affected. So we must try to preserve what we have and restore what the flames have engulfed," Kiselova noted.
The development of small and medium-sized municipalities is one of the priorities of the government, she stated, adding that serious steps have been taken to pay off debts from previous years so that the projects that have been started can continue.
