Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov has ordered a very quick analysis, within days, to be followed by an assessment, GERB leader Boyko Borissov told the media on Wednesday in response to a question about whether aircraft should be purchased for firefighting. He noted that firefighters are now much better equipped with machinery and equipment than they were years ago.
When asked what GERB would do about the fact that the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) had not complied with Parliament's decision to remove Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov, Borissov said he could not speak on behalf of the SJC, the prosecution service, or the court.
Regarding the Anti-Corruption Commission, Borissov pointed out that “constructed in this way, this commission should not be in the hands of absolutely anyone, especially in such a divided country as the one currently governed by the head of state”. Borissov added that the commission is linked to the Recovery and Resilience Plan, and that Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev is currently working to see “what we will lose or not lose” and “we will have a few weeks to think about which of the two proposals to support.” Borissov commented that he found the position of Democratic Bulgaria strange, as they had participated with Continue the Change in the request for such a commission and are now against it.
