The Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) coalition has agreed in principle to expand the scope of their vote of no confidence to include a specific area related to internal security and to hold talks on a joint vote, said the leader of Morality, Unity, Honor (MECh) Radostin Vasilev after a meeting on Thursday with representatives of CC-DB on a future vote of no confidence in the Zhelyazkov cabinet.
Vasilev explained that the vote of no confidence on the issue of internal order and security will take place in September, with talks to be held with CC-DB to broaden its scope with sub-topics. He added that further talks with the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms and Velichie are also envisaged.
Vasilev noted that there will be no need for the support of Vazrazhdane for this vote and noted that they want to be isolated and are doing everything possible to push everyone away from themselves. Regarding Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov, Vasilev noted that it is clear to Bulgarian citizens that he is not the only opposition, he is not even any opposition, and that things are coming to an end for Vazrazhdane.
The leader of MECH also commented on Kostadinov's words that if one of the four parties in the majority does not decide to bring itself down and vote against the government, there is no way a vote of no confidence can happen, saying that this is well known and discussed. Vasilev noted that he is counting on some people in the supporting parties, such as There Is Such a People, to change their position once they see the arguments and how close this government has become to MRF-New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski.
“Without an explosion from within, it cannot happen, and there will be many explosions in the country by September,” Vasilev said.
