The government currently enjoys the support of a stable parliamentary majority, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said on Sunday on the occasion of the no-confidence vote being prepared by Continue the Change. He visited the municipality of Primorsko, where he inspected the renovated treatment plant at the Yasna Polyana dam together with ministers, mayors, representatives of state institutions, and GERB leader Boyko Borissov.

"For a vote of no confidence to pass, at least 121 members of parliament must vote in favor. It appears that the potential support for the vote currently stands at around 80-odd MPs," Zhelyazkov said. According to him, the government, led by a coalition involving GERB, has a clear commitment to governing the country, and this commitment is being upheld.

The prime minister emphasized that the current governance structure is based on priorities set out in the coalition agreement, which was supported by over 140 MPs. These include Bulgaria's European path, maintaining financial discipline, and the effective absorption of funds under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, as well as from the European Union's operational programmes.

"We can hope that we will achieve more than we planned at the beginning of the year, both in terms of investment in the economy and in terms of gross domestic product growth," Zhelyazkov added. He also noted the positive assessment by international rating agencies, which recently upgraded Bulgaria's credit rating.
