There are 403 foreign students studying at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) at the moment, the university told BTA. Four of them are from European Union countries.

Foreign students at the UNWE currently come from 21 countries on four continents: Austria, Albania, Armenia, Vietnam, Germany, Greece, Egypt, India, Kazakhstan, China, Kosovo, Morocco, Moldova, Mongolia, Nigeria, Russia, USA, Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkiye, Ukraine.

Over the last three academic years, the number of foreign students from countries outside the EU and the European Economic Area has been increasing.

Foreign students study in 39 specialties in five professional fields.

The University of National and World Economy is one of the four Bulgarian universities, and the only economic one among them, listed in the prestigious QS World University Rankings. “Our university has moved up 21 positions from 101st place in 2024, and now, in 2025, takes up 80th place. The ratio of quality education at an affordable price attracts many foreign students,” the UNWE told BTA.
