site.btaPolice Warns of Phishing Campaign Involving National Health Insurance Fund

A phishing campaign is underway on behalf of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) by sending an email link to fill in personal details, the Ministry of Interior said on its website, urging people to not reply to such emails, or open the links and files.
The attack is aimed at health insured persons and is being spread via e-mail. The message urges users to request a refund of overpaid health insurance contributions due to a “miscalculation” and prompts them to fill in bank and personal details, the Ministry said.
Citizens should be extremely careful when providing personal data or banking information, cyber experts warn.
On June 4, the NHIF warned of a scam on their behalf and stressed that the institution does not send via e-mail to citizens or contractual partners files concerning their health insurance status, information on amounts due and other personal information.
