Butamyata Beach in Sinemorets is among Bulgarian sites that received the international environmental Blue Flag Award this year. Butamyata Beach, called by the locals the South Beach of Sinemorets, borders the territory of the Strandzha Nature Park, which makes it particularly attractive for lovers of marine tourism and nature, Sinemorets residents told BTA.
The concessionaire company told BTA that the beach will be fully prepared to welcome visitors on June 1, as umbrellas and sun loungers have already been placed and the medical centre is equipped with the necessary equipment.
Among the novelties this summer season will be a water slide designed for the youngest visitors. It will be located on the sand and will be supervised by a rescue team to ensure the safety of the children, the concessionaire specified. The road near the beach has been leveled, and additional parking spaces for vacationers' cars have been provided in the area.
The Blue Flag Award is presented by the Denmark-based Foundation for Environmental Education, with over 50 countries participating in the programme. In order to qualify for the Blue Flag, a series of stringent environmental, educational, safety, and accessibility criteria must be met and maintained.
BTA is presenting all 30 Bulgarian beaches and harbours awarded the Blue Flag by the international jury of the Programme in Copenhagen. It is the 30th anniversary of the first award for the country - the pilot Blue Flag was raised on Sunny Beach on July 4, 1995.
