At its regular meeting here on Wednesday, the Cabinet approved additional expenditures under the 2025 budgets of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, and the Council of Ministers.
The approved BGN 77,576,000 in additional expenditures under the Finance Ministry's budget will cover the implementation of The National Strategy for Integrated Border Management in the Republic of Bulgaria 2024-2027 and activities on revenue and control functions of the National Revenue Agency and the Customs Agency. The funds are provided at the expense of the estimated expenditures under the central budget for this year and take into account the increasing volume of traffic across the external borders of the EU and the set objectives to facilitate legitimate business.
The BGN 444,789,300 in additional expenditures under the Regional Development Ministry's budget will cover the costs for cadastre, cartography, and geodesy activities already carried out (BGN 3 million) as well as the obligations (some of which overdue) under agreements concluded for activities carried out under the republican road network maintenance contracts. The resources will come from the central budget for 2025.
The Council of Ministers also allocated additional expenditures under its own budget that will cover the Sofia regional administration's activities of providing security for the dismantled bronze figures and bas-reliefs from the Monument to the Soviet Army, including the rental of scaffolding and a fence to secure the monument. The Government Information Service does not specify the amount of additional expenditures allocated for this purpose.
