Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) – New Beginning Floor Leader Delyan Peevski conferred with Nikolay Rashkov, Mayor of Gorna Oryahovitsa (North Central Bulgaria), who has joined the New Beginning for Regional Development strategy, the coalition’s press service said on Wednesday. 

“As Bulgaria’s largest transport and industrial hub with great development potential, Gorna Oryahovitsa needs a new beginning and that is why Mayor Nikolay Rashkov expressed his desire for the municipality to become part of the MRF – New Beginning strategy,” the press release said.

The sides discussed the municipality’s key priorities, including the development and renovation of the transport and industrial infrastructure of the city, the establishment of an industrial park, and efforts to attract strategic investors aimed at boosting employment and improving the standard of living. 

Emphasis was laid on the need to explore the opportunities provided by the airport in Gorna Oryahovitsa as a major link connecting industry, transport and tourism across northern Bulgaria, as well as to transform it into a leading transport communication hub, the press release said.
