CC-DB Co-Leader Vassilev Glad That Parliament Now Has Elected Chair

Speaking to reporters in the corridors of Parliament on Friday, Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria co-leader Assen Vassilev said that he is glad that the MPs reached a consensus, and the National Assembly has an elected Chair. "Even though it was very difficult to achieve, the sanitary cordon [around MRF-New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski, who has been sanctioned for corruption by the US and the UK] has actually worked. We are now kick-starting the Parliament’s work to be able to pass all the bills and the [state] budget by the end of the year," Vassilev stressed.

Nikolay Denkov from CC-DB said that the lost time of the last few weeks needs to be made up quickly, so CC-DB will make a proposal that the MPs work between Christmas and New Year, including over the weekend, so that the 2025 state budget can be adopted on time.
