site.btaCitizens Stage Protest against Maria Pavlova’s Appointment as Caretaker Justice Minister
Citizens staged protest in front of Sofia’s Palace of Justice on Tuesday evening. Those gathered are dissatisfied with Maria Pavlova’s appointment as caretaker Justice Minister, as she served as deputy of acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov and was appointed caretaker Justice Minister on his proposal. The demonstration was organized by the Justice for All Initiative.
The protesters also demand that Sarafov be removed from office until all investigations against him and his deputies are completed.
One of the protesters, Petromir Kanchev, a lawyer and a Justice for All member, stressed that the continuation of the judicial reform is the most important thing because without this reform it does not matter who is in Parliament.
