The Executive Board of the Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB) firmly declared its continued support for the Denkov-Gabriel cabinet in a resolution on Sunday, saying it is "without a reasonable political alternative". The document reaffirmed the party's stance in favour of a stable government working towards the national goals: judicial reform and entry in the border-free Schengen area and the euro area.

DSB is part of the Democratic Bulgaria coalition along with Yes, Bulgaria and the Green Movement. The power-sharing coalition made up of Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) is supported by the GERB-UDF coalition, which is the largest parliamentary force. When the cabinet was formed in June, CC-DB and GERB-UDF agreed that Nikolay Denkov and Mariya Gabriel would rotate as prime minister and deputy prime minister over a nine-month period, starting with Denkov.

The DSB emphasized the importance of reforms leading to accelerated economic development and reaching the average European standard of living. The DSB said that while it is part of the majority in the National Assembly, its assessment of the governance practices of GERB and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) over the past 14 years remain unchanged.

The DSB said the MRF's attempts to influence the majority and the cabinet's policy were entirely due to agreements between GERB and the MRF.

The party said the challenges facing Parliament are the passage of the 2024 State Budget Bill and revisions to the Constitution as the first step of the judicial reform.

The DSB called President Rumen Radev's threat to veto the State Budget Act "nationally irresponsible". The MPs of the DSB will make sure between the two readings of the bill that public money will not be wasted, the document said.

The resolution called on the DSB's national leadership to promptly start negotiating with the other members of the Democratic Bulgaria coalition and with Continue the Change about the coalition format for the European Parliament elections.

On Saturday, the national leadership of Yes, Bulgaria reaffirmed its support for the cabinet.
