The mountain mountain hiking conditions on Friday are good, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) with the Bulgarian Red Cross told BTA. Moderate winds are blowing over the higher parts, expected to turn to strong in the afternoon.

Temperatures will reach 18C in the higher areas of the mountains, 9C on Botev Peak.

Over the past 24 hours, rescuers have helped a lost family. “Yesterday, we searched for a mother, father, and two-year-old child in the area of the Urvich Fortress (Western Bulgaria) who had gotten lost. The operation ended successfully at 12:30 a.m.,” the MRS said.
