“We are not fighting for power. We want to govern because we have shown what happens during our governance - construction, construction, construction, including in Haskovo,” said GERB leader Boyko Borissov during a meeting with mayors, municipal councilors, activists, and supporters from the Haskovo region. The meeting took place in Dimitrovgrad.

“In Haskovo, no church has been built since the Liberation. Now the new church is already at the roof stage. And if we continue to govern, there will be a new church as well, as there already are in dozens of other cities,” Borissov said. He also recalled that he had already given a promise to Patriarch Daniil that religious education would be included in Bulgarian schools.

“In the campaign we managed to maintain a good tone and made sure that all cities  - both small and large - heard our messages,” the GERB leader said. “Why do we want to  -continue governing? Because apart from us, no one has contributed more to making everything that we have done belong to you, 100% to the Bulgarians,” Borissov said. He noted that ahead of this vote there has been deafening silence on the topic of machine voting and urged the party’s representatives in polling stations to be careful. Borissov also advised people not to be concerned about the results published by polling agencies.

He wished success in the elections and predicted that GERB’s political opponents would be surprised by the results.
