Tsvetan Predov, a parliamentary candidate of There Is Such a People (TISP) in Sliven, called for the resignation of caretaker Labour and Social Policy Minister Hasan Ademov over delayed social payments, his campaign team said.

Predov argued that the National Assembly had approved a TISP proposal to provide holiday allowances for all children, as well as for young people up to 21 leaving social care while continuing their education, with the aim of ending exclusions from such support.

According to him, however, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has not taken steps to implement the decision. He said that citing administrative grounds for delays amounts to an institutional refusal to enforce parliament’s will.

Predov added that the systematic failure to implement legal provisions and prioritising party interests over the public interest were grounds for demanding the minister’s immediate resignation, stressing that support for children should not become hostage to political disputes.
