In an Easter video message on his Facebook page, caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gurov said: "Let the Resurrection enter our homes, our thoughts, and those empty places we do not know how to fill. Let it remind us that it makes sense to be together, even when we are different. That it makes sense to be kind, even when it is difficult."
"Light is quiet, but it remains," he added. "In these quiet hours, when the night still remembers our footsteps with candles, and the bells ring out the morning, I think about how fragile and how persistent our human desire for light is. At Easter, we enter churches - each with our own silence, with our own hopes. And we leave with the same word, passed from hand to hand like a flame: 'Christ is risen'."
He noted that there were times when faith was a refuge, a language and a memory. At other times it was simply an internal conversation with oneself. "Today, it is perhaps that small good that we choose to do without being forced, without waiting for reward. A small gesture that says: we are still here, we are still human."
"Happy feast of feasts," said Prime Minister Gurov.
