Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov asked Prime Minister Rumen Radev when he would restore the dismantled Monument to the Soviet Army, the party's press office reported.
“The Prime Minister is right that the removal of anti-fascist monuments leads to the revival of fascism in Bulgaria. That is why I am asking Radev directly ehhen he will restore the illegally dismantled Monument to the Soviet Army?” Kostadinov said.
At the beginning of Wednesday's government meeting, Prime Minister Rumen Radev commented on a murder in Plovdiv, saying that “there is no place for fascist atrocities in Bulgaria, and we will do what is necessary.”
“It is shocking that there are politicians and influencers trying to gain political dividends from the murder,” Rumen Radev said. He added that these were the same people who oppose introducing the subject of Virtues and Religions in schools.
“The same people who systematically destroy monuments and erase the memory of the anti-fascist struggle are now shocked by the fascist symbols displayed by the attackers in Plovdiv,” Radev said.
Addressing the opposition, he added: “These ignorant thugs are also your creations.”
