National Assembly Chair Raya Nazaryan announced the conclusion of the 51st National Assembly’s final regular sitting on Thursday. She wished her colleagues success in the upcoming election campaign: “Be dignified and do not forget to act in good faith in everything you do,” Nazaryan added.

The election campaign for the upcoming April 19 parliamentary elections begins at 12:00 a.m. on March 20, according to the Central Election Commission’s schedule. According to parliamentary rules, from the start of the election campaign for members of parliament until the convening of the newly elected National Assembly, no regular plenary sessions or committee meetings are held.

Earlier this week, Nazaryan stated that Thursday would be the last regular session of Parliament, though this does not preclude the possibility of convening an extraordinary session during the recess in exceptional circumstances, or upon the submission of signatures from one-fifth of the members of Parliament.
