On this date in Bulgarian history:

1999: Parliament adopts Water Act regulating ownership and management of water resources and ownership of water systems and facilities.

2003: Plovdiv Mayor Ivan Chomakov unveils renovated Brezovsko Chaussee, a major thoroughfare.

2008: Women's chapter of GERB party, called Women GERB, is founded in Sofia.

2016: National Assembly adopts amendments to Election, under which mayors will be elected by direct vote in settlements with more than 350 residents, rather than 400 as before.

2019: Delegation from Tianjin, China, visits Plovdiv and signs declaration of cooperation to mark 30th anniversary of sister-city relationship with Plovdiv Region.
