Regular coordination meetings will be held between the heads of the regional directorates of the Ministry of Interior and regional governors to prepare for the upcoming snap elections in April, the Council of Ministers said after a meeting convened by caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gurov.

The meeting was also attended by the acting Secretary General of the Interior Ministry, Georgi Kandev.

According to the government press service, the purpose of the working meetings across the country will be to discuss current issues related to election organisation and to ensure a timely response to incoming signals and complaints.

A dedicated operational plan will be approved within the Interior Ministry, and specialized staff will coordinate the actions of the ministry's structures during the preparation and conduct of the elections, Kandev said.
