site.btaUS Air Force Planes Stationed at Sofia Airport in Support of Training, Defence Ministry Says

US Air Force aircraft are stationed at Vasil Levski Sofia Airport, the Ministry of Defence said on Thursday in connection with media reports.
 
Their deployment is in support of training related to the NATO's enhanced vigilance activities. The personnel are for aircraft maintenance, the Defence Ministry added.

Earlier on Thursday, caretaker Foreign Minister Nadezhda Neynsky said to journalists that the Foreign Ministry has very little information about the US planes, but that she has ordered that as many details as possible be collected. Neynsky assured the public that once there is complete and reliable information, it will be presented.
