site.btaSofia Municipality Presents Plan for New City Routes to Vitosha Mountain

A new plan by Sofia Municipality provides for four urban routes that will link the capital’s green spaces with the trails on Vitosha Mountain, the Sofia Municipality press service said on Thursday.

The plan is part of the Vision for Vitosha initiative and was developed by the Sofiaplan Municipal Enterprise. It aims to provide easier, greener and more pleasant access from the city to the mountain, with direct and convenient approaches for pedestrians and cyclists, while promoting an active lifestyle and environmental protection.

“The green corridors are another step forward towards the realization of the Vision for Vitosha, namely to make the mountain accessible all year round, while preserving nature. We want to connect the city and Vitosha not only with lifts and roads, but through green and peaceful routes that encourage movement and time outdoors,” Sofia Mayor Vassil Terziev said.

The plan is available on the websites of Sofiaplan, Sofia Municipality and the Vision for Vitosha initiative, the press service said.
