site.btaSeveral Major Hospitals and Parts of Central Sofia Left Without Heating After Pipeline Ruptures

Ruptures in two main heating pipelines in Sofia have left several major hospitals as well as parts of central and southern Sofia without heat supply Thursday, the city’s heating utility said.

The rupture has affected Alexandrovska Hospital, the Maichin Dom maternity hospital and St. Ekaterina. 

The outages began on the morning of December 4 and are expected to continue until late morning on December 5. Emergency teams are already on site, working to isolate and repair the damaged sections to restore service as quickly as possible.
