The Government adopted a Programme for Financing Youth Centres in the Republic of Bulgaria (2026–2028), the Government Information Service reported on Wednesday. The aim of the Programme is to ensure long-term funding for youth centres, to guarantee equal opportunities for young people in both large and small settlements, to include young people from vulnerable groups and from small settlements, and to stimulate civic participation by encouraging volunteering, youth initiatives and social entrepreneurship.

The implementation of the activities under the Programme is aimed at young people between 15 and 29 years of age, who are its direct target group.

The Government’s vision is focused on building and implementing a unified, consistent and sustainable youth policy in Bulgaria, based on a multisectoral approach, cooperation, and joint governance with young people at national, regional, provincial and municipal levels.

The Programme has been developed in accordance with the goals and priorities of the National Youth Strategy (2021–2030) and with the priority “Developing mechanisms for acquiring key competences among young people” under the National Development Programme – Bulgaria 2030.
