site.btaSummer Leadership Academy Officially Opens in Kavala, Greece

The eighth edition of the International Summer Leadership Academy officially opened in Kavala, Greece, under the theme “Leadership Through Education,” announced the Higher School of Telecommunications and Posts (HSTP). Taking place until June 13, the Academy is held by the HSTP in partnership with the Municipality of Kavala, the Bulgarian Sunday School in Kavala, and the Bulgaria Society.

The academy hosts students from various Bulgarian universities who have a strong interest in the topic of leadership.

Attending the opening event were the leader of the Kavala Municipal Council, Konstantinos Pefanis, and Deputy Mayor Apostolos Moumtsakis.

In her opening remarks, HSTP Rector Dr Meglena Temelkova said that the Academy has grown into a tradition and a part of the academic life of the HSTP.

As he greeted the participants, Konstantinos Pefanis said that anybody can develop leadership skills. “We are happy Kavala is hosting this event,” he added.

Apostolos Moumtsakis said that the event is a step towards further improving relations between the two people. “We are more than neighbours and partners: we are two countries that stand for European laws,” he added.

Lecturers on the first day of the Academy were MEP Ilia Lazarov and Stanka Koleva, principal of the Bulgarian Sunday school in Kavala.

The program includes experience sharing, personal success stories, best practices, and valuable lessons from both the successes and failures of the speakers. The aim is to equip participants with new skills and attitudes, while fostering awareness of socially significant causes and encouraging the formation of positions on important issues and challenges.
