Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev held a phone call on Monday to congratulate Nicusor Dan on his convincing victory in Romania’s presidential elections. Radev expressed Bulgaria’s readiness to further deepen its partnership with Romania, the head of State's Press Secretariat said. He noted that Romania is Bulgaria's second-largest trading partner, with bilateral trade exceeding EUR 7 billion annually.

Radev highlighted the importance of continued cooperation on key European Union and NATO issues and ensuring regional security. He said that joining efforts in the field of connectivity would enhance the region’s appeal to investors and promote business and tourism.

The Bulgarian head of State also invited Dan to visit this country in an effort to further develop dialogue between Bulgaria and Romania at the highest level.

In a post on X earlier in the day, President Radev congratulated Nicusor Dan and wrote: “I look forward to working together to further strengthen good neighbourly relations and the strategic partnership between our two countries, members of the EU and NATO.”
