The ambition of Albania and its working plan with the European Commission is to open all negotiation clusters by 2025 and complete the technical negotiations by 2027, said Megi Fino, Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania. She was among the speakers at the EU Meets the Balkans forum held in Sofia Thursday.

The event was organized by the European Liberal Forum, the ALDE Party, and the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria with the participation of Vice President Iliana Iotova, EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos, MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk, representatives from Turkiye, Romania, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and Montenegro, Bulgarian MPs and policy experts.

According to Fino, around 80-90% of the Albanian people support the country’s membership in the European Union. "Reform is a key word for Albania, whether it concerns the rule of law or public administration reform," she said. "The path is certainly long, and there are many challenges, but as we see it, it is very fruitful, and we are deeply committed to it," Fino concluded.
