Two agreements for projects to be funded by the Bulgarian Development Aid program were signed at the Bulgarian Consulate General in Nis on Wednesday. Consul General Dimitar Tsanev signed the agreements for the projects titled Green and Sustainable and Media Pluralism, Freedom of Expression, and Democracy, in the presence of the presidents of the Bosilegrad Association GLAS and Emblema Association, Tsaribrod, which will be implementing the projects.

In his address, Consul General Tsanev wished both organizations success in their project activities and emphasized the importance of this program as an ongoing Bulgarian initiative supporting Serbia's European integration process.

Alexander Dimitrov, Chairman of the GLAS Association, announced that over its seven months the Green and Sustainable project brings together students from the Bosilegrad High School, the St. St. Cyril and Methodius High School in Tsaribrod, and students from Vranje High School of Chemistry and Food Technology.

The project will focus on building knowledge and skills in the field of ecology. Each participating school will host lectures and ecological debates aimed at encouraging “green” creativity among the students and boosting their environmental awareness and competencies.

The project activities include environmental campaigns with motivational and competitive elements, such as "Green Contests" for essays, photography, and drawings, culminating with an autumn green camp in Bansko for the top-performing students from the three partner schools.
