The Bulgarian Embassy in Chisinau organized a reception on the occasion of May 24 - the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture and of Slav Letters. Compatriots representing educational, cultural, scientific and social organizations of Moldova and Bulgaria were invited to the diplomatic mission for the traditional celebration of one of the most important dates for all Bulgarians.

The anthems of the two countries and the Bulgarian School Anthem were performed by the school choir "Rodolyubets" from the village of Valea Perjei, Taraclia region. Bulgarian Ambassador to Chisinau Evgeni Stoytchev delivered a welcoming speech. He stressed that the creation of Bulgarian literature is of fundamental importance for the formation of Bulgarians as a nation and for the preservation of their identity through centuries of hardship and trials.

Stoytchev presented diplomas from the Bulgarian Embassy to those who have dedicated their lives to the noble cause of spiritual development and enrichment of the Bulgarian society in Moldova - teachers, researchers and public figures alike.

The students of the Lyceum "Vasil Levski" in Chisinau and the choir "Rodolyubets" greeted all present with a literary and musical program. The event ended with a small cocktail, Bulgarian choro and photos for remembrance.
