All books displayed at the Bulgarian stand at the Bookfest International Book Fair in Bucharest will be donated to Bulgaria's Embassy in Romania, National Book Centre Director Svetlozar Zhelev told BTA on Thursday. He said the Embassy was expected to pass the books on to the Bulgarian Studies Department at the University of Bucharest.
The donation comprises more than 200 titles representing the best of contemporary Bulgarian literature, poetry, children's books and illustrated fairy tales featuring works by more than 30 leading contemporary Bulgarian illustrators. It also includes limited-edition albums donated by the Sofia City Art Gallery and Methodius Petrikov, among them The Four Gospels of Tsar Ivan Alexander and History of Bulgarian Fine Arts.
Bulgaria is this year's guest of honour at the International Book Fair in Bucharest. The event opened on June 3 and will run until June 7 at the Romexpo exhibition centre in the Romanian capital. Admission is free.
