Following a re-entry of data from tally sheets submitted by the section election commissions for the October 12, 2025 municipal council elections in Pazardzhik, the local Municipal Election Commission (MEC) said Monday that Boris Aleksandrov Vladov from GERB will replace Radka Dimitrova Kezheva, while Asya Pavlova Fitkina-Spasova from Vazrazhdane will take the seat of Hristo Nikolov Valkov.

The recount was triggered by a letter from Information Services, Bulgaria’s national system integrator, which reported discrepancies in the data entry from the tally sheets. During the review, the MEC double-checked the recorded preferential votes for four candidates and the total votes for the Agrarian People’s Union (Zemedelski naroden sayuz).

For Vazrazhdane candidate Hristo Nikolov Valkov, the commission found 93 preferential votes instead of the initially reported 207, while Asya Pavlova Fitkina-Spasova had 106, not 101. Among GERB candidates Boris Aleksandrov Vladov and Radka Dimitrova Kezheva, who had originally tied in preferential votes and were subject to a draw, Vladov was later found to lead by one vote.

The MEC annulled results from 19 tally sheets and submitted corrected data for re-entry. It also confirmed that the quota for one municipal council seat is 785 votes — precisely the number received by the Agrarian People’s Union.

In a separate decision published on its website, the Pazardzhik MEC said it had reported the incident involving the incorrect entry of the preferential votes’ data for Vazrazhdane candidate No. 105, Hristo Nikolov Valkov, to the Pazardzhik District Prosecutor’s Office. The commission also said it has submitted a formal report on the case to the Central Election Commission (CEC).
